| she was running with fierce force, her persuers following closely behind. she could hear their heartbeats, hungry for her blood. i am Shade, the phantom of the night, i am a half breed, so to say. my father is the lord of darkness, or the vampire lord, my mother was the spirit of light, or a sorceress so to say. i am a mix of the two and i am a very dangerous combination. but i have a problem, my father slaughtered my mother when i was six and took me away with him and forced me to please his's covens every desire, including the physical ones. but i managed to escape, but i couldnt be free for long without my father's bounty hunters after me. they want me back, he wants me back. but i will not go back, i will not be anyones sextoy! i heard an ear peircing howl strike through the night sky. 'Shit! their catching up to me!' i'l never get away from them in this form, time to go feline. By the powers of the cat god within me, release the cat of wind! i felt my body shift and my bones crack. suddenly i was running on all fours with glossy silver and blue fur, streaking through the forest. when i was miles away, i stopped in a clearing. "hmmm...that should do it," she said with pleasyre in her voice. "well, i guess there is some good that comes from this godforesaken curse", she said looking down at the cat gods rosary around her neck. it prevents her from using any of her demonic our vampiric powers at all. just leaving me as a half cat demon, with black ears at the top of her head and a long reddish black tail at her rear. she shifted back into her original form and stood up. "hhmmmm...i wonder if-" she got cut of when she heard a rustling in the bushes. a growl escaped her throat and she shouted, "whos there! show yourself!" then she saw him, his gold eyes peircing. she gasped and backed away. Shit! not him, please not him! he gave me a cold, evil smile and said, "long time no see, shade." i swallowed and growled back, "nice to see you too, sesshomaru." he narrowed his eyes at me and said, "still alive are you? i thought a pathetic half breed like you would already be dead." i snarled, but i remembered that he thinks i'm a half demon, not a cursed vampire. "atleast i'm doing better than you! i didnt get my arm hacked off!" i snarled. suddenly i was forced to the ground with a exstrutiating pain on my neck. i glared up at sesshomaru who had his right clawed hand tightly grasped around my neck. "persitant wench!" he snarled. i gave him a cold glare. i was about to snap something when i froze. I sense it! its near! i started to struggle against sesshomaru's grasp but her refused to release me. "let me go dammit! before its too la-" but it was already too late, it was already here. i saw rin and jaken come out of the bushes looking for sesshomaru happily, unaware of the bloodlust lurking behind them. then i saw inuyasha and the others walk into the clearing. oh no! oh no! the fools! their going to get killed and not even get to see the cause of it! sesshomaru froze, he released me and stood up, glaring at inuyasha hatefully. "inuyasha, come to your death so soon, how very amusing," he said with a snarl. i leaped up and glared around the clearing, searching for it. Shit! where'd it go! sesshomaru and inuyasha where insulting one an other unaware of the monster here. then i saw it, grinning evily as it showed itself, ready to eat rin alive. rin saw it and screamed. sesshomaru jolted his attention to rin and froze, pannick in his eyes. Shit! now i have to save his girl, the man who tried to freakin kill me, what a coincidence. "rin!" sesshomaru yelled and started for her but it was already too late, he couldnt make it in time to save her, but i can. i roared and leaped at the monster, teeth bared. i felt my self shift with the shadows, allowing me more speed in time to save rin. i crashed into the demon and bit down hard on its face. it snarled and swatted me with its paw. i flew in midair and crashed to the ground, dazed by the force of the blow. i shook my head and stood up and growled at the beast. i chuckled and said, "your resiting is futile. i will kill you anyway. might as well save me the trouble and just go without a fight". i laughed, "since when do you know me to give in? i've always been the one to fight to the death, as your aware i'm sure." he grinned evily and laughed, "that perhaps would be the cause of your destruction then, Shade of the night." i closed my eyes and said, "perhaps." he roared with delight and said, "that also would be the cause of your mothers death. she was such a foolish mortal. completely useless and weak. no wonder your the same. and besides im going to look foward to sending you to hell Shade! haha...you can not be foregiven for your sins, for your sins are too great." i took a deep breath and smiled, "perhaps, but like i said, i could care less how i die or where i die, all i care about is revenge. and if i am to die here then i'l take you to hell with me!" and with that i roared and lept at the demon, eyes wild and bloodthirsty. his enormous jaws lunged for my throat but i dodged and raked my claws down his face. he let out a pitiful wail and glared at me, "you dispicable wench! il eat you alive!" i licked my fingers and said, "ya, people keep telling me that." he snarled and i saw his gaze wander to the little girl at sesshomaru's side, her eyes fearfull. he grinned and launched himself at her. "No!" i roared and transported in just enoff time to stand between the girl and the demon. i felt the demons fangs sink into my neck and i let out a peircing howl. the demon shrank back and covered his ears. the little girl looked at me, horror in her eyes. why? why did i save this human girl? why did i save sesshomaru's girl? i winced as the poison spread throughout my body. damn, i got infected. my blood slowly dripped to the ground. i sank to my knees, my stregnth wavering. i heard the demon chuckle, "a message from your father. he sends you his regards." "damn you," i snarled. he grinned, "that poison i injected into your body is pure alicorn silver, im sure you know what that is dont you." i froze. no...unicorn blood...my greatest weakness. "im sure you only have moments to live. enjoy a slow painfull death for the sake of a human," he growled, "now if you dont mind, il help myself to some human meat." i heard rin scream. then i felt it, the transfermation. i felt my blood boil and my skin crawl. a deep low growl escaped my lips. "what...whats this?! i thought you couldnt transform anymore! no! i thought the cat gods rosary supposed to be afficial," the demon roared. sesshomaru looked at me with an confused yet angry look. then i saw his face change into a very, very slight fear. and i knew why. i felt my skin burn as fire started to seep from my skin. "i...i cant believe her aura!" shouted the monk miroku. "whats happening to her," asked the demon slayer sango. "her skin, its burning! shes catching on fire," screamed kagome the human priestess. "shes transforming..." i heard sesshomaru whisper. "we get that part genious! but into what," shouted inuyasha. as i felt the transfermation coming i glared at the demon, my blood red eyes glowing. "games over," i growled in a throaty snarl. then my control burst and i transformed. I heard rin scream and everyone else gasp at my true form. i stood over the demon, tail slashing back and forth with malice. i grinned, showing him my fangs and said, "meet my true form, demon." his face was churned in horror and fear. i knew what he saw, a dragon-like demon from hell, my bloodred black scales shimmered and my red eyes glowed. my wings outstreched and ripped, showing all my previous battles. "il make you pay for insulting my mother! she was better than you'll ever hope to be you filth!" i roared and then i leaped at it. it let out a terrorfied screech when i chomped my jaws around it and bit through it, its blood soaking the ground. i growled and spat out the dead demon and looked at the moon high in the sky. i heard the tinniest heartbeat beating so frantically that i thought it was going to burst. i looked down at the little girl i saved who was crouched next to the dog demon sesshomaru. he was glaring at my coldly. i sighed and took a step foward. i saw sesshomaru half way unsheath the tensaiga, the sword of heaven, and growl. i stopped dead, glaring at the ominous sword who was whispering in my head, warning me to stay away or it will strike. i growled and said to sesshomaru, "i much dislike that sword of yours. you need to tell it to keep its thoughts to itself." he looked abit puzzled for a split second then returned to glaring at me. *sigh* "i dont want to hurt any of you. i just wanted to make sure the child is ok. after all i did just give my life for her." rin gasped and said in a tiny voice, "what do you mean you just gave your life for me? your still alive arent you?" i closed my eyes and looked away. "not anymore, young one," i whispered. then i felt myself sink, my form returning me to the half demon form before i die. i gasped and collapsed to the ground, my clothes half way tore and my neck still bleeding. i shuddered and my body convolsed. i saw rin run over to me, her face full of panick. then i saw everyone else rush over. kagome knelt down and rumaged in her bag for medical supplies. "ts--not--going to--h-e-lp...you--c--ant--h--e--lp me---no--w," i stuttered. she looked fearfull. then i saw sesshomaru standing over me, his stare blank, but not cold anymore. then another shear pain hit my heart and i convolsed. this time blood leaked out of my mouth, covering my face in it. "oh no! shes dying! hurry get some bandages," shouted kagome. i gasped and shook on the ground. i could feel the silver running through my veins, the transformation made the poison spread faster. then i heard his thoughts, 'how can i help you? is there any cure?' i looked at sesshomaru, gasping and wincing as my skin started to tear. 'tell me!' he demanded. 'dragons tail! and moons wing! you can find them in the dragons valley two miles from here! but be carefull of the dragons who guard it, if you get caught say Anueye sent you! now hurry!' i gasped. then i saw sesshomaru dissapear into the woods. i watched him go, tears in my eyes, why did he help me? why. i choked and slowly slipped into darkness... |
